The Cover Reveal: This Is Loveandpizza.it

Across this series, I’ve been handing you crumbs. Small things. A street, a pastry, a superstition, a character who wouldn’t stay quiet even when I asked her to. I didn’t tell you where it was all leading, not properly, because some things deserve to be seen all at once rather than explained in advance.

And this is where all those crumbs were leading…

Drum roll… 🥁🥁

The full Loveandpizza.it cover illustrated by Criss Rosu, with six story tropes labelled around it: slow-burn romance, self-discovery, Napoli as a character, new beginnings, food as a love language, and chosen family

Thirty days of crumbs led here. Go on, see what’s really underneath.

This is the cover of the relaunched Loveandpizza.it, illustrated by the sweet and amazingly talented Criss Rosu!! 🤩

What This Cover Represents

A cover has one job, really. It has to promise the truth of the book without giving away a single one of its secrets. This one does exactly that. There’s Vesuvio holding the whole scene together in the background, steady and watchful the way it’s been watching this story since Day 20. There’s the coastline curling away underneath it, the kind of view that stops you mid-sentence the first time you actually see it in person. And there’s Carolina, curls loose, caught mid-daydream between two thought bubbles she can’t quite choose between.

I love that Criss gave her two things to dream about rather than one. It’s exactly right for a woman who spends this whole book being asked to want something plainly and struggling to let herself. And the line underneath her says it perfectly: “Because love, like pizza, comes with too many tempting options…” I love this line… a single sentence you scribble down early ends up distilling the whole book years later.

The next post in the series is a proper interview with Criss 👀, and once you’ve read it, I think you’ll love knowing how much thought went into every part of this: the colours, the softness of the palette, the warmth of it. For this post, though, just take the cover in. Seeing it finished still stops me for a second every time I look at it.

The finished Loveandpizza.it cover

Thank You for Following the Story Crumbs

I won’t pretend this relaunch has been simple. Three editions, three languages, and an entire series of writing about a book I finished a long time ago and am somehow still discovering things about.. But if there’s one thing this challenge confirmed for me, it’s that Loveandpizza.it still has something to say, and that there are readers out there who want to hear it.

So thank you. From the bottom of my heart. If you’ve followed the story crumbs this far, reading about Vesuvio and sfogliatelle and a heroine who is more stubborn than she thinks she is, you’ve given a huge amount of time to this little world, and that means more to me than a tidy sign-off can really capture.

What Happens Next

The English edition, the Italian edition and the Portuguese edition are all coming, each one carrying this same cover into the hands of readers who’ve been waiting for it in their own language. I’m aiming for mid-October, and I don’t have exact dates beyond that to give you in this post, because I want the relaunch list to hear them first, properly, before anyone else does. (and I also don’t want to put pressure on my editing friends! 😅)

I promise you that this isn’t just another marketing line. If you’ve stayed with me this far, you deserve to be first through the door when it opens, not scrolling to find out after the fact. So if you’re not already on the list, this is the moment. One email address, and you’ll know the second each edition is live, in whichever language is yours.

Join the relaunch list

The English ebook edition will be available to pre-order ahead of release, so you can join the relaunch list and be the first to know the moment each edition lands. The Italian and Portuguese versions will come shortly after.

Napoli is waiting for you. Carolina is waiting for you. And now, so is this cover, out in the world at last. 😍

I just had an idea. We could do cross-promotion and even author interviews with each other.
